METI Minister’s Award Presented to Fuji Oyama Factory for Environmental Sustainability

Tokyo, Japan – GC is pleased to announce that the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has presented the METI Minister’s Award to GC Corporation’s Fuji Oyama Factory in Oyama-cho, Sunto-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture. The METI Minister’s Award recognizes excellent environmental sustainability efforts by factories and businesses in Japan.

Nominated by the Commerce and Industry Bureau under the Economy and Industry Department of Shizuoka Prefecture, Fuji Oyama Factory was selected as the award recipient for improving its environmental impact, its consideration for the surrounding environment, as well as its relationship with the local community.

At GC’s Fuji Oyama Factory, the environmental and maintenance staff play a central role in maintaining and managing the vast worksite, supported by a number of retired GCC associates. To promote communication with the local community, Fuji Oyama Factory invites local residents to its annual summer festival and offers factory tours to schools and organizations in Oyama-cho, as well as to dental professionals from all over the world. Among its many initiatives, the factory also participates in community clean-up activities twice a year, led by environmental volunteer organizations. These are just some of the activities for which Fuji Oyama Factory has been recognized by the METI.

Encouraged by this award, Fuji Oyama Factory is determined to become the best dental factory in the world by continuing to supply its products to customers all over the globe while further improving its sustainability efforts.
